Nixoderm for Acne
People in tropical countries seem to have it good when
it comes to weather. The warmth is
just right most of the time, and if it gets too hot, you may as well just
stay indoors with the air conditioning, right?
Well, with this seemingly perfect
climate comes some pretty nasty humidity and all the skin conditions that go
with it. Specifically, humid weather
is not great for people with naturally oily skin and can cause acne
outbreaks. As an answer to this
however, a product was created in
Nixoderm is a cream encased in a green 17 gram tin, and
it works similarly to other products that treat acne.
Nixoderm itself has three helpful
ingredients, and the first is a predecessor of benzoyl peroxide.
Benzoic acid as it is called is not
only effective in treating acne, but fungus based skin problems, as well,
like ringworm and athlete’s foot. The
next component of Nixoderm is sulfur, which is interesting, as the substance
itself once enjoyed a reputation for coming straight from the depths of
hell, and was known then as brimstone.
Sulfur by itself takes care of the oiliness of skin by drying it and
peeling it off, preventing blockages. Finally,
we have salicylic acid which helps exfoliate the skin from way within the
follicle, preventing any unwanted bacterial and keratin stuffing.
During medication, a substantial
degree of skin drying will occur, so using a non-comedogenic moisturizer
will be helpful.
Together, all of these ingredients work efficiently and
quickly. Some people claim that it
only takes a few days to a week for the whole face to show significant
improvement. For very mild cases, a
blemish or red spot may be gone overnight. To
use the product, apply the cream once or twice a day on affected areas after
cleansing. If used before bedtime,
avoid sleeping on your face as Nixoderm easily comes off.
You might just wake up with your
pillows white with cream. If you’re
the type that constantly moves during sleep, use the product hours before
going to bed. Some have stopped using
Nixoderm because of this predicament.
There are a few other downsides to the product as well,
but these have nothing to do with its effectiveness in treating acne.
Due to the strong effect of its
ingredients, a mildly painful sensation may be felt for a few minutes after
application. If one can deal with
this, then the end results should make it worthwhile.
Another complaint has to do with its
smell, which has much to do with the sulfur.
If you’re familiar with how sulfur smells, then you can decide for
yourself if this treatment is worth it. Nixoderm
is also a little hard to find since it is an Asian product.
Some have had luck spotting it in
small Asian and African remedy stores. It
is also available online. Despite all
of these problems, this cream is a very good product because of its price.
At most, it will only set you back a
few dollars per tin.
